Pelora is a tool for tracking a personal GLP-1 routine — something that involves genuinely sensitive health details. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we never do.

The short version

  • Your shot logs, nutrition entries, weight, and side-effect records are stored locally on your device.
  • Pelora does not use Firebase, third-party analytics SDKs, ad networks, or crash-reporting tools.
  • We do not sell your health data. Not ever, not to anyone.
  • We do not use your health data for advertising — Pelora doesn't run ads at all.
  • An optional, Premium-only backup feature syncs your data to your own private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. It is off unless you turn it on.
  • RevenueCat manages subscription status only — it never receives your health data.

1. Who we are

Pelora is operated by Op Studio (Openverse). If you have questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@openverse.tech. We aim to respond within 5 business days.

2. What data we collect

Shot, nutrition, weight, and side-effect data

When you log a shot, dose, injection site, protein or water intake, weight entry, or side effect, that data is stored locally on your iPhone. It does not automatically leave your device or reach Pelora's servers — Pelora does not operate a backend server for your tracking data. If you enable iCloud Backup on your iPhone at the system level, Apple may include this local data in your device backup under your own Apple ID, governed by Apple's own privacy policy, not ours.

Optional Premium cloud backup (CloudKit)

Pelora offers an opt-in backup feature, available to Premium subscribers, that syncs a copy of your tracking data to your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This is not a Pelora-operated server — Apple hosts and encrypts this data within your personal iCloud account, and Pelora's developer has no access to it. Backup is off by default and only activates if you turn it on and are signed into iCloud. Restoring a backup merges records additively — it does not delete or silently overwrite newer entries already on your device.

Subscription and payment data

Payments are processed through Apple's App Store. Pelora uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status. Neither RevenueCat nor Pelora has access to your credit card or billing information — that data never leaves Apple. RevenueCat receives an anonymized subscriber identifier and your entitlement status only; it does not receive your shot logs, nutrition data, weight, or side-effect records.

What we do NOT collect

  • No third-party analytics SDK is included in the app (no Firebase Analytics, PostHog, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar).
  • No crash-reporting SDK is included (no Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, or similar).
  • No advertising SDKs and no advertising identifiers — Pelora does not run ads.
  • No HealthKit access — Pelora does not read from or write to Apple Health.
  • No location or GPS data.
  • No contacts, photos, or camera access beyond what you explicitly choose to attach (e.g., a progress photo you take or select yourself).
  • No account or sign-in system — there is no email/password account tied to your tracking data.

3. How we use your data

Because nearly all of your tracking data stays on your device, there is very little for us to "use." The narrow exceptions:

  • Optional cloud backup: If you turn on Premium backup, your data is written to your own iCloud account so you can restore it on a new device or after a reinstall.
  • Subscription status: RevenueCat tells the app whether your subscription is active so Premium features unlock correctly.

We do not use your data for marketing profiling, behavioral advertising, or any form of automated decision-making that affects you.

4. Who we share your data with

Pelora works with a small number of infrastructure providers, none of which receive your health data:

  • Apple (CloudKit) — Optional, Premium-only backup storage inside your own private iCloud account. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
  • RevenueCat — Subscription management. Receives your anonymized App Store subscriber ID and entitlement status, not your health data.
  • Apple (App Store) — App distribution and payment processing, governed by Apple's terms.

We do not sell, rent, or license your data to any third party. We do not share your data with data brokers, insurers, employers, or marketers. If we are ever required by law to disclose data, we will notify you as permitted by law before doing so.

5. Data retention and deletion

Your tracking data lives on your device. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it (unless it was included in a device-level iCloud Backup, which is controlled entirely by your iPhone's system Settings, not Pelora). If you enabled Premium cloud backup, deleting your backup from within the app removes it from your private iCloud container. To ask questions about deleting any Pelora-related data, email privacy@openverse.tech.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data associated with your use of the app
  • Correct inaccurate data (directly, in the app — it's your local data)
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Data portability — Pelora already supports this natively via free CSV/JSON export, anytime

To exercise any of these rights or ask questions, contact us at privacy@openverse.tech.

7. Children's privacy

Pelora is not designed for, and does not knowingly collect data from, children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app and shared personal information with us, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

8. Security

Your tracking data is stored locally using iOS's built-in data protection, which encrypts data at rest using your device passcode. If you use optional cloud backup, that data is encrypted and stored within Apple's CloudKit private database, scoped to your own iCloud account. We regularly review our security practices and will notify you of any breach that affects your personal data as required by applicable law.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, the updated date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
